The Purpose

Isn't this just like Xanga? Remember when we all had those in middle school? I wish I could remember my password so I could post a link to my past, but my memory has failed me.

I decided to start blogging not to publish and "hear" myself talk, but to do some soul-searching and self discovery. No, I'm not trying to be a cute artsy-fartsy indie hippie, I just wanna figure out what my real voice is.

The point of all this, The Purpose, is for expression of some of the racing thoughts buzzing around in my head. If you know me at all you know I think way too damn much.  I want to take time to stop and enjoy the little things in life.  I want to fall in love with something everyday.

Wouldn't that be an awesome way to live life? To have that Just-Fell-in-Love feeling at some point everyday?  I think so.

So for directionality in this blog, (because I am way too ADD to try to write about everything... this would turn into a manuscript, not a cute bloggy) I will focus on daily discovery, my "lovey" for the day, and last but NOT least, a picture of my puppy, Lucy.  My pride and joy, my shameless babytalking obsession and my lovechild (?) with Mr. Blake Howard.

So many clever caption ideas! I'll let your brain decide what she's thinking in this photo.

Lovey:
Discovered a site called Active Minds.  www.activeminds.org
It's an organization that promotes college campus' awareness of the stigma attached to mental illness.  Think about it.  If it weren't for people thinking "Counseling? I'm not crazy, I don't need a shrink", a lot of people wouldn't experience the pain of judgement along with suffering from a mental illness as well.  A lot more people would seek treatment if they thought they needed help.
I want to start an Active Minds chapter on my campus, let's see if I can actually make that happen.
